Architecture

G-Sphere is written in C++ and compiled using Microsoft .NET. .NET enables easy integration with software written in other languages. G-Sphere graphics use the Open GL graphic library and is freely distributed with Microsoft Windows. Ensuring that your video driver is up to date can solve most graphics related issues. G-Sphere stores portfolio data on your machine using Microsoft Access Driver with standard SQL calls. Microsoft Access can open and manipulate stored portfolios, but is not required for normal G-Sphere use. Enterprise customers can store portfolio data centrally with minimal customization. For use of the Excel time-series import or portfolio export users must have Microsoft Excel. G-Sphere installs and updates using Installshield software. G-Sphere can be removed using the Control Panel > Add and Remove Programs.

G-Sphere accesses the internet for three reasons only:

  1. To compete activation
  2. To check and obtain software updates
  3. To retrieve time series and portfolio data

Investment Portfolio Diversification

Gsphere is visual asset allocation software rooted in portfolio diversification. Diversification is displayed in 3D as symmetry, equating portfolio balance to physical balance.
Meanwhile, the optimal asset allocation is obtained. Gsphere creates one globally efficient model portfolio, determining the equilibrium of diversification, risk and return.
